Lartaye Danjuma is the founder of AmbuCares, a nursing and disability support service based in Canberra. She is a registered nurse, with over ten years of experience. She is a wife, a mother, and a daughter with a deep passion for community care and cultural inclusivity. Lartaye’s journey began in West Africa, where caring for others is not a profession but a shared responsibility, a way of life deeply rooted in community and family.
After migrating to Australia, she dedicated her career to nursing across aged care, community health, disability, and mental health services. Through these experiences, she witnessed firsthand how individuals from multicultural backgrounds often received care that failed to reflect their cultural values or respect their identity.
This reality inspired the creation of AmbuCares, providing nursing and distality support, a service built on acceptance, family, and belonging, where every person is seen, valued, and understood. AmbuCares provides high-quality, person-centred care and culturally sensitive care that empowers individuals to live safely and independently, while staying true to who they are.
We work collaboratively with participants, families, and health professionals to deliver holistic care that uplifts and connects.
